Not how I expected to spend my Tuesday evening either.
[ Just. Yeah. ]
Not that this [ showing her bandaged hand ] was actually caused by that, mind you. I made a mistake, had to stick my arm briefly into some fire to rectify it.
[ it's not like, incredibly fussy but also wtf. look at your puppy, he's concerned. ] What in the world happened? You've got me on the edge of my seat, here...
Hmm. Well, come get a glass of water with me? You should be able to keep an eye on the door at that distance, or at least most people who come in and go.
[ Come with her on her night time routine....... ]
I suppose I don't know if it was strictly a meteor, but it's probably close enough. Something strange fell from the sky, and it altered things in the library. We had to deal with some things coming to life, right out of the pages, and write our own additional narrative to make it stop.
I got the burn because I'd tossed the book I picked up into a fire, but it turned out to be a bad decision, since it apparently meant I would go up in flames as well. I got injured when I stuck my hand back in to retrieve it.
Oh, but if you go back, it won't be there anymore. It's all gone, like it never happened.
[ he nods! off to the water - and, frankly, eto is clever so she might notice his shoulders sink just a little in relief at that. someone's got separation anxiety.
but!! off they go! lu bixing listens to this explanation which is. a lot! but, he still takes in all the information given, bringing a hand to his chin thoughtfully. ]
...And you're injured, so it's not like it was some sort of collective illusion. That's - fascinating, if horrifying. [ huh. huh!!!! ] I'm glad you're alright, and... it sounds like it was at least a little lucky you were the one there to solve it with a narrative, huh? An expert in her field, at least.
Maybe something overheard you talking about tragedies...?
[ smh
but, ah, his brows knit together a little worriedly. his roomie :( ] Lavi really loves to read, too. That is interesting... I wonder if there's any connection.
[ a thoughtful pause, but he shakes his head. ] Either way - I'm glad you guys are alright.
[ If she had a nickel for every time someone brought up Romeo & Juliet at her so far in this game she'd have three nickels which isn't a lot but it's weird it's happened three times already. ]
Oh, I've much a mind to complain to some of the personal demons. They kept sending me that one.
[ She's gonna beat them up!!! ]
Maybe, or maybe not. I really can't come up with any sort of rhyme or reason to why it all happened, I can only accept that it did. And even then, it's barely, as the library's fixed itself since.

I don't want to take up too much of your time, if you're waiting for someone.

No, no. And - even if I did, I'd be dying to know. A mistake made you stick your hand in a fire...?

A bit of trial and error. I was given Romeo and Juliet, which I found ridiculous so I tried to throw it away first.
Yes, Chandra and Lavi were with me.

This is the only proof.
