[what a powerful expression... Lavi squirms a little, feeling guilty... He nods though,]
Space ship. Don't remember getting on though, we came to when it was leaving. There was a castle in ruins, skeletons doing chores in the yard. We went inside to look around and got a key from one of 'em.
[and here lavi's expression darkens, annoyed.]
There was a door that said if we went in we'd die and that we'd lose our souls. Itto ran in headfirst, of course.
We ran in after him, ended up in a lab. A monster appeared and then we... synced up with each other. I became Tuuri's cavalier, like how Gideon is for Harrow.
That's when all the bleeding happened. [he gestures to his face, now clean] I think it was something that happened to Gideon before. Like it was a memory I was experiencing.
[ oh im in tears i know exactly what your cyoa was this is incredible
the syncing up thing doesn't even phase him, really: that just feels kind of normal. it sounds like home?? he taps away at his keyboard, fingers flicking briefly as he writes, thoughtful. and in space, too... so his theory about planets and houses was probably right... wildin. ]
...Her world sounds... [ he chews on his lip, a little. ] ...rough. [ weird. terrible. ] So you were with Tuuri, then - it was Itto and Hunter? What happened to them?
They linked up too. [they were actually having a great time?] We were all together from beginning to end this time -- no one got separated.
The last room we were in... [here lavi pauses] We saw people from our world. People important to us. There was some kinda ritual... but it was basically, kill or be killed. Itto refused and Hunter let himself get stabbed instead, so they both died. Their souls merged with their loved ones, so that's why they came out in their bodies.
[ well. there are a lot of implications in that little sentence. lu bixing stops typing, looking past the screen and then up to lavi, brows knit together - and he reaches out after a moment to very gently put his hand in a spot that's uninjured to give a little squeeze. ]
Yeah -- it was pretty bad. [he lets out a short laugh that's not really a laugh at all, just a sound.]
But I was convinced they weren't real. And it's not the first time I've had to do something like that. I'm just worried about... [hm] I'm worried about Tuuri. ...She might have made the same choice because my emotions were affecting hers.
