[ a little later on on friday, lu bixing is here at the bar. he's got a water in front of him, but isn't really paying it much attention, seemingly lost in thought, fidgeting with the cuffs of his sweater
[Childe, for his part, has been doing the rounds since they've been set free. The bar is one of the last stops; he wanders up as he spots Lu Bixing, nodding at him in greeting.]
What's on your mind? [Besides, y'know. The obvious.]
[ aw hey buddy. childe gets a little smile and a duck of the head in greeting. ]
Oh - everything, I think.
[ he looks tired. considering. ] I did a headcount, and I feel like I've been all the way across Hell and back, but there's hardly any sign of...well, anything.
we're at the bar again! it's another bar now though. it's the clown bar. lu bixing is here, sitting in a stool, holding a drink in hand. though, he hasn't had any of it yet, which is a blessing for everyone.
he gives childe a little wave when he wades through the ballpit, and offers him a hand up. welcome to ballpit clown drink hell]
[I can't believe we're at anna's house ALSO THAT ICON IS SO CUTE STUFFS LBX IN MY MOUTH
But wow this sure is a different vibe from the last one... is this better or worse than the last bar??? He will withhold judgment for now but he waves back, wading across the ball pit and accepting the hand up. Thank god he's tall... we really do have a game of giants damn]
I did! This island is even more confusing than the last one. [He says this good-naturedly but like also what the fuck is a clown]
up you go! he's got a pretty strong grip! maybe more than you'd expect from a nerd? wild. anyway. they are now free and out of the ball pit. ]
It's like an ancient Earth carnival, I think. [ like something from a book. he also doesnt really know clowns. only from books. ] Kind of... I'm not sure if charming is the right word, but it's something.
he is not in fact on fire. he's here in... the common room, hopefully not still covered in frosting. he's just kind of sitting with king bileygr on his chest, looking into the distance. like. disassociating, probably. it's cool.
though! when he recognizes someone's come into the room, he startles out of it a little and gives him a smile. ] Childe.
Anyway this is so belated I'm sorry work ate me BUT HERE HE IS checking on teacher lad... he's brought a cup of shitty fast food tea, but at least it's warm.]
Hey. [He holds the tea out!] Is your arm taken care of?
[I will get back to our Thursday one in a bit too help BUT ANYWAY. He is here, probably along with like everyone else because they're all starving after 9 hours? Or maybe not because there were dismembered body parts this time. It's fine.]
but here is lu bixing! he's here. he's vibing? he's not vibing. this has been exhausting. he needs a nap. he needs ten naps.
there's something loosely held between two of his fingers that's wafting smoke where he's sitting - and he laughs, a little, at childe's response, and scrubs a hand over his face. ]
That is an understatement, my friend. [ god. ] Are you okay?
Childe glances at his joint or w/e it is but doesn't comment; he doesn't sit down right away either.]
Fine. More than some of you, at least; I didn't know either of them that well. [And sometimes you are simply so desensitized that murder alone is whatever, even when it turns out your secretly crazy roommate dismembered a cannibal. But he likes Lu Bixing well enough, so it's no trouble to offer--] I can make you something to eat, if you're up for it. It'll help.
today, lu bixing is... in the kitchen! wow. it's his turn to be cooking something - it looks like he might be baking, actually, with the meager ingredients available to him? but he is very scientifically measuring out baking powder and putting it in a small bowl of other dry ingredients when childe comes in. ]
Anyway, eventually, Childe will come track him down; he stayed through the whole execution today, hanging out rather impassively in the background until the end. Do you ever just watch a guy gayly rip out your friend's throat? It happens.]
Hey, do you have a minute? [He can come back later if LBX is busy, or he'll help if LBX wants him to, either one.]
[Hilariously I cannot fucking find this in one clip for the life of me FOR SOME REASON so--
Perhaps they moseyed off to explore the new island, perhaps they're in the middle of discussing how best to deal with Octopus 2 Electric Boogaloo--A MYSTERY. I'll let you decide if the screen just pops up while they're talking or if they get knocked into a hole, but either way, Lu Bixing gets to see this memory from 9:13 to 15:37!!
Hmmm. Well. That's a little awkward, but it certainly could've been worse.]
[ this memory is so fucking cute im mad. i love you childe noogies him to death
anyway. well! this is a lot. the technology of the - mr. cyclops, is that what the little kid called them? that's fascinating, but watching childe dart around the battlefield like that is, too, and then - well. it resonates with lu bixing, too, even as the memory itself fades out. they're left sitting in a hole sort of in the dark, but it's fine.
he sounds soft, when he speaks up. affectionate. ]
... Your family is very lucky to have you, Childe. Were you alright, after that? Was your brother angry that you left?
lu bixing's in the planetarium, today, after that. thankfully, it's empty besides him? which is good, because there's a very faintly smoky smell coming from near one of the star displays, and the faint light of a burning cigarette in the dark, mixed in with the pinpricks of stars.
well, maybe not a cigarette? that's definitely a weed smell. it's fine. god. what a day. ]
Hilariously I don't think Childe has done a weed but the smell is distinctive enough that he can recognize it by now; he doesn't seem to mind, though, wandering over. He doesn't spend much time in here, so he glances over the displays as he goes.]
Stressed, I take it? [This isn't a serious question, and he takes a seat next to LBX.]
[ hello it's wednesday and lu bixing is in the lab with childe!
he's sitting on a stool, with a few different Science Tools and a few beakers of chemicals, legs folded and looking curiously over at
Weapons.
anyway he sighs a little wistfully as he's looking over Stuff with childe. his personal device is up beside him, projecting a set of screens like usual. ]
See, this is the kind of weapon enhancement that I'm good with. I'd really give anything for just slightly better technology... Give me the supplies and I could build a nuclear weapon, but instead, I've got gasoline and minor chemicals.
[HERE THEY ARE doing their thing... fortunately/unfortunately Childe is not Kaveh and while he's interested in the technology it's in that way where he's kind of curious about everything. For his part, he's brought the sword as promised, along with (checks notes from boat race week) a shield and a mace for good measure; he himself has his usual blades.]
I've never heard of a nuclear weapon. [Who needs nukes when you've got gods] But to answer your question... I suppose I'm mostly curious what you can do. For me, I've gotten used to relying on my Vision, so going back to having no elemental abilities has been an adjustment.
[But he doubts Lu Bixing could re-activate his Delusion, so he isn't going to bother bringing that up. He sighs, lifting one of his blades.]
Normally, I can use Hydro to make whatever I need. Not just these, but bows and arrows, shields, you get the idea. For example, if a battle's a little more challenging, I can blend the two of these together to make a double-bladed spear--that kind of thing. But I don't think it would be possible to create anything that malleable here, would it?
[He's not sacrificing his blades for Science because there's no guarantee he'd get another set, but it would be nice to have something with more versatility.]
bixing's sitting somewhere in the city, nicely dressed in fancy boy dark academia clothes (new) and reading a book. he looks like so at home here it's kind of stupid. when he sees childe, though, he brightens immediately and shuts his book!! ]
And I got yours! Two, actually. Guess that delay wasn't even immune to this. Someone wants to kill you for doing something, too, but it seems like that could be an every day occurrence.
[ sitting out on the stairs at the mansion is lu bixing! and he is just
working. there are so many screens out of his personal device. There Is So Much Math. he's typing away almost furiously at his keyboard, brow furrowed, an unlit cigarette sticking out of his mouth. Work Mode TM
