[ryn steps closer to peer down at it; there's a gold jewelry chain visible around his neck, but just the chain. whatever is on the necklace is tucked in his robes.]
[ he reaches out and taps it affectionately on the top. it is his baby. ] I've had one since I was a little kid, but this is my favorite model. Normally, it can do all kinds of stuff, but... well, it won't turn on. I'm trying to figure out if I can rig an alternate power source since apparently the main processor isn't working.
[ this man is deeply considering attempting to rob the computers. ] It's not working out as well as I want, though, so, you've got good timing.
Did you end up getting something from home, too? This was mine.

[ lu bixing props his elbows on the table, cheeks in both of his hands and grins up at rynlan, a little starry eyed at the thought. ] Can you imagine? Now that I know magic is real in other universes, the things you could do with it...
