[ hello, zel! today lu bixing is... vibing in the computer lab. by which i mean, he's sitting cross legged on the floor and examining one of the computers with a critical eye.
noting someone else though, he leans back from where he's sitting and offers a cheerful smile. ]
[Zelgadis is shrouded head-to-toe in white. He stops in the doorway when he sees there's someone in here, but at that greeting, decides he might as well come in.]
lu bixing makes a thoughtful noise, tilting his head to the side. ] Well, honestly? No, these are... archaic. Ancient Earth technology that they're saying is "state of the art".
[ ????????
fucking future nerd. he sighs, prodding at the computer's base. ] But, c'est la vie. We work with what we have. What about you?
They look fairly advanced compared to anything I've seen before. Where I'm from, it's rare to see machines of any kind, much less ones so small and complex.
[ lu bixing leans on the cpu of the ~ state of the art computer ~ and laughs a little bit, patting it affectionately on the side like you would treat a dog. ]
This is actually pretty big, for one of ours! I have twenty times the processing power at least in my personal device - and that's usually worn on my wrist.
Then again, it sounds like my world is a lot further in the future than everyone else's. And we definitely don't have magic, either!
The God-Sealing Barrier that surrounded the bulk of the continent I lived on. For a thousand years, no one could get in or out. In that time, the development of magic flourished within the barrier and languished in the lands beyond it.
When a part of the Dark Lord was revived, demons waged war against the world, but knew they would face opposition from the gods while their lord was not yet whole again. So the Dark Lord's minions put up a barrier around the lands that would be their battleground, keeping out any gods that would come as reinforcements.
week 0, tuesday
noting someone else though, he leans back from where he's sitting and offers a cheerful smile. ]

[His one visible eye gazes down at the computer.]

No magic...? In the entire world?

[A thoughtful pause. His shroud makes it hard to make out his precise reaction.]
... Maybe I shouldn't be surprised. Even in my world, magic is rare outside of the barrier. Though it is a fundamental part of the world nonetheless.

Oh, fascinating... Can I ask - was it designed to keep your continent in or something out, do you think? Or both? Why was it called 'god-sealing'...?
