as if bixing would let him go. he'd let lin have a few minutes to himself, but beyond that... well, he's hurrying to follow him. lin jingheng's had a terrible, terrible week, hasn't he? it makes bixing's heart ache, and when he spots him at the bar, he comes to find him quickly, lifting a hand as his fingers curl briefly in the air before he slides it gently between his shoulderblades by way of greeting.
[ he expects lu bixing to come find him, even sends him a little text with a whiskey glass emoji to tell him where he is. it feels like he's back on beijing β, hunched over at his own bar. he can hear him before he feels the hand between his shoulder blades.
the tension leaves for a moment and he turns his head to catch him in the corner of his eye. with a quiet nod, he tips his head towards the seat beside him. ]
He better have died and meant it instead of tripping on a banana peel or some shit.
don't. the way this is delivered doesn't make him quite laugh, but he lets out a soft huff of a noise, and pulls himself into the barstool next to him. it lets him hook an ankle around the edge of lin's stool, just for the sake of being close, offering a little comfort as he looks at lin with soft, worried eyes. ]
... Yeah. I doubt it was an accident, this time. [ at least, he hopes. ] Childe's always so prepared. [ and it's scary, to think of someone like him as someone who's just gone. ] ...I'm sorry, Lin.
[ he is just gone. isn't he? he just shrugs and pushes his empty glass away, chewing quietly on a cherry stem before nudging their knees together from how close they are now. ]
He'll be fine. The others are doing alright for now.
[ he just... very gently takes lu bixing's hand and kisses the back of it softly—
oh. no that's not a kiss. jk he's biting his knuckles instead (gently.) ]
[ help. he doesn't seem to mind, mostly because he's already tested this, and feels a little swell of warmth when lin momfs on his knuckles. cute... it's a little balm of happy in the middle of a dumb morning, and he nudges his knee gently against his in response, too, even as his brows knit together. ]
...She will be - even if they get to see each other. [ ugh. his uri. they said they'd look after chandra... ] ...Even though they're not really gone, it doesn't make it any easier.
he squeezes his hand, and then takes it, pulling it up to his mouth to kiss his knuckles, instead and lingering there. ]
...And, we'll find a way to make sure they get to come back here and get out. [ lu bixing has often been a beacon of hope and optimism for others. as he starts to drag himself out of the depths of his own despair, bit by bit, he's finding himself gravitating back to that old attitude - back to the hands reaching out of the depths of misery, for the starry sky up above. ]
