[ the warmth in his voice is genuine and affectionate, here. it's not something he's familiar with - he's never had siblings - but the love of family makes his heart ache, nonetheless. it's a little heartbreaking to hear the ship home part, but also... it really do be like that in hell, so he acknowledges it with a quiet noise, and keeps going. ]

Haha, you're telling me! You know, he actually snuck onto a boat to come see me last year--sailed all the way to another country. I nearly had a heart attack when I found out what happened. Fortunately, a friend of mine found him before anything happened to him.
