i made this pc filter early because i laughed at a joke about calling chandra a chad and then completely forgot about it until right now

Well, from a certain perspective, nothing brings people together like violence and injury, yes...

[ nah he's totally fine. none injury! just stressed from a long day. ]

Yeah. We were supposed to solve an unsolvable puzzle, for the first round. The second, they created a copy of Lin, and we had to figure out which was real. The third was just Akira and Ryo - I was trying to help Lin and I missed most of it. All of them were difficult decisions with high stakes on purpose.

And then, once the last decision was made, we were returned here without any fanfare.

Difficult decisions with high stakes... Yes, I can see how setting people up with such things might be entertaining to certain crowds.

Was there anything worthwhile from it all besides Akira's kit, or was the only purpose to inflict suffering?

[engineers]

Nothing.

[ he spreads his hands a little bit in the process, empty. ] We just vanished, did this, and returned with all of the same injuries we had. I don't know how it happened or why, short of - exactly. Suffering.

Hm. Perhaps they're hoping that if they make some of you seem like easy targets via injuries, others will have more incentive to take you out.

Be careful who you give your whereabouts tonight, even if it may not make a difference.

he makes a good point, though - lu bixing's mouth draws into a line. ]

Mm. That's probably the case. Ryo got a gun, and Lin had a harpoon gun. Of all the things, that's all that came back with us.

And thanks. [ a pause, and a little huff of a laugh. ] I think. I'm not injured, really, so, it's fine.

You'll be staying with Lin though, I assume? Without restorative magic, bullet wounds aren't the sort of thing humans walk off after a night's rest.

In that case, seeing as how you didn't explicitly vote for sharing a grave as the most romantic gesture, better make sure that that doesn't happen to the two of you tonight.

Thanks, Chandra. [ genuinely. ] I think so. Truthfully - I'm almost glad that it was me. The second location we woke up in was a spaceship, and so, it felt like I had a little bit of an advantage in terms of solving the puzzle itself. I think... from the way it sounded when we first arrived, it could have been much worse.
