They're residents of the plains. Sort of like-- I've read about minotaurs in books here, if you're familiar with those then Tauren are very similar. Very peaceful, usually. Some of the best druids and shamans I've worked with.

But, your lifespan's pretty long, and so's mine, so. I think we can safely pencil in a visit sometime.

I'm really in office based on necessity and popularity, after the previous prime minister passed away - they would've overthrown me if they didn't like the way I was running things, but I like to think I've been pretty fair. So, once our affairs are taken care of and I can design one of those, then I can start thinking about my retirement plan.
[ wistfully: ] Once we get out of here, and I can bring Lin home, and we get Gideon and Harrowhark and Kon all settled in, and all of that's done, I'm adopting a dog.
Kidnapping? No. I'm providing legal citizenship as the liason of the Eighth Galaxy to at least three children who desperately deserve a chance to live a life full of love and opportunity.

he can't let himself settle in that too much, though, and he laughs, brightly, clearing it up with a wave of his hand as he hands over his dish. ] Anyway, it's not that new. I was my students legal guardian until they all reached adulthood, so, adopting teenagers is just the status quo.
[...oh, that soft expression is cute. he can't help a little smile in response, head ducking a bit to hide it while he finishes the dish off and sets it aside.]
Well, we're close to making sure that both of you get the chance to. Not too much more of this, now-- and in the meantime you'll just have even more practice dealing with teenagers.

It's not like we can't just use the tanks to combine our DNA so they'd be, like, our kids, what if he doesn't want that, and - wait, oh, god, we have to get married first, I'm not going to be a parent out of wedlock. What if he doesn't want to get - no, he will. He definitely will, I'll just have to start thinking about how to propose when we get back....
